TRAVEL FEE  $1 per mile one way.

INITIAL IN-HOME CONSULTATION  (Approximately 75 minutes)  $180 + travel fee.

Proof of current vaccinations must be presented at the beginning of the appointment.

A veterinary exam is required to rule out medical issues that may be contributing to you dog's behavior if he/she has bitten someone.

My first visit to your home will be crucial for effective problem resolution.  Behavior problems are best addressed in the settings where they occur. If you have very young children, please arrange for a sitter to occupy them so you can focus your full attention to resolving your dog's issues.

When I arrive, we will first sit down and talk.  I will answer any questions or concerns you may have, share my understanding of your dog's behaviors and discuss realistic goals and objectives customized to your needs and abilities.  We will discuss strategies to bring you immediate relief from your dog's undesirable behaviors.  I will then observe and evaluate your dog as he interacts with you as well as with me. We will start teaching your dog important foundation skills using rewards without force or intimidation.  A solid foundation is necessary if we are to create lasting behavior change.

What is included:

 1. A folder with relevant information.
 2. A thorough behavioral history will be taken, with in-depth discussion of your dog's issues.
 3. Careful observation of your dog's behaviors, abilities and interactions with you and other family members.
 4. Establishing management to prevent continued rehearsal of unwanted behaviors, which will greatly reduce your stress.
 5. Opportunity for you to practice teaching your dog foundation skills necessary for future training.
 6. Helping you set realistic, achievable goals.
 7. If your dog needs further training or behavior modification, a plan will be presented.
 8. A written risk assessment (if applicable).
 9. Free report to your vet (if applicable).
10. Two free post-consult email exchanges or phone calls if you have questions about your initial consultation.

What's next?

At the end of the initial consultation, I will suggest what I feel is the best path to reach your goals.

If more sessions are required to meet the goals we established, I will present the best plan to achieve them.  Single followup sessions are $100/hr plus travel fee.
