INITIAL CONSULTATION AND EVALUATION (Approx. 70 minutes, $95)
At the first appointment, I will listen to your concerns, observe and interact with your dog, diagnose problems, help
you set goals, and propose further training options. We will get started with the training, and you will be shown
easy management tips that will provide relief from annoying behaviors.
CRASH COURSE (2 hours, $180)
The perfect solution for busy people who prefer one appointment instead of multiple
sessions.
Great for puppies or rambunctious adolescents (dogs,
that is).
Not for aggressive or fearful dogs.
This course includes the initial consultation and evaluation, as well as practice
time and a comprehensive 34-page training manual. The manual explains in detail how to train basic obedience commands
and how to deal with typical behavior problems.
Your dog's training
needs will be addressed in one convenient session. You will learn how to effectively teach your dog to listen, and you
will have an opportunity to practice with your dog while I coach you. I am available for support by e-mail or phone
after the course.
AFTER THE
INITIAL CONSULTATION:
HOURLY RATE: $90
DISCOUNTED PACKAGES:
Foundation Skills (3 weekly sessions, $240) Not
for aggressive dogs.
While typical obedience classes quickly
jump into teaching commands such as sit, stay, come and heel, it is actually best to first teach your dog 4 important foundation
skills to prepare him for a lifetime of learning. They are: name response, focus, self control, and resisting distractions.
Taking the time to teach these crucial skills using special techniques not found in books or pet store classes will make
any subsequent training much easier and more enjoyable for you and your dog. This program will benefit dogs of any age.
Basic
Manners (4 weekly sessions, $300) Not for aggressive dogs.
Your dog will learn basic manners and self-control that will help him peacefully co-exist
with you and your family, including walking without pulling, greeting guests without jumping, and other polite behaviors.
New Puppy - 2 to 4 months old (4 weekly sessions,
$300)
This is the critical age when what you do and don't
do will determine whether or not your puppy reaches his or her full potential as an adult dog. Housetraining, crate
training, grooming/handling, and the all-important aspects of proper socialization will be addressed, as well as teaching
self-control and manners using positive reinforcement.
BEHAVIOR PROBLEMS (A discounted custom package will be presented at the end
of the initial evaluation.)
I design customized training programs
to address difficult issues such as rambunctiousness, aggression, fear, anxiety and problems in multiple dog households.
The most current and humane behavior modification techniques are used to teach your dog appropriate and acceptable behaviors.
Confrontation, force, and "dominance moves" are not appropriate when attempting to change behaviors in dogs (or
people).
There are no magical cures, contrary to what you might see on television.
However, you will quickly notice big improvement in your dog's behavior using the right approach. You're commitment
to the training program is the most important predictor of success. Most behavior problems are treatable with
appropriate intervention regardless of your dog's age.
